Youth Town ensures teens stay caught up on school work during treatment by requiring participation in academics in conjunction with our therapeutic services. Individualized instruction with 12-15 students graduating each year. With an adult-to-student ratio of approximately 4:1, George Thomas Jr. Academy's staff offers maximum academic opportunities for students to earn credits toward Tennessee graduation requirements and HiSet (GED). Our environment of accountability and structured school day leads to success in school that many of these students have never experienced.
George Thomas Jr. Academy is accredited by the Tennessee Association of Non-Public Academic Schools (TANAS).
George Thomas Jr. Academy is also approved by the Tennessee Department of Education as a Category 1 special population school. All George Thomas Jr .Academy teachers hold professional teaching licensure.
The George Thomas Jr. Academy became a reality thanks to a generous donation given by Dr. George and Janie Thomas in memory of their last son, George Thomas Jr.

Did you know our Youth Town teens can't go home to see their family for the holidays? We aim to make this season special for each teenager in our care, but that is only possible through community generosity. Would you, your business, or even your church small group consider making the holidays memorable for them this year?
