Male Residential Psychiatric Support Worker

The Male Residential Psychiatric Support Worker is responsible for the safety and well-being of 8 residents ages 13-17 in an assigned dorm on Youth Town's campus. They will also be responsible for maintaining positive, influential relationships with residents while following the routine shift schedule. We hire gender specific for both boys and girls programs. 

Job Summary

  • Work daily with residents to provide support, encouragement, and guidance
  • Interact with residents during shift, including meals, school, and activities
  • Adhere to the shift schedule time, location, and activity
  • Document resident information and daily progress notes before shift ending 
  • Responsible for the safety of the residents
  • Recognize crises and provide appropriate interventions based on training and experience.
  • Notify the supervisor or medical if crises/emergencies arise.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in working with or volunteering with ages 13-17 years.
  • Preferred experience minimum of 1 year of working in a residential substance abuse or mental health facility.
  • Current TN Drivers License

Male Therapist

The Youth Town Therapist specializes in providing mental health treatment services for co-occurring disorders, mental health, and substance abuse for ages 13-17.  The Therapist's role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues. 

Job Summary

  • Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm
  • Strong spiritual walk that aligns with Youth Town’s Christ-centered residential approach
  • Provide mental health and substance abuse services to a caseload of no more than eight boys ages 13-17
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Complete progress reports
  • Conduct weekly individual and family counseling sessions
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
  • Participate in weekly multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings

Qualifications

  • Preferred licensed professional counselor with MHSP or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The license must be current.
  • Will consider a non-licensed counselor with the following experience: a Masters in Social Work or Counseling
