Outpatient treatment offers flexible schedules, allowing clients to attend to daily obligations while receiving mental health care. The Refuge accepts clients starting at age 7.
To start the admission process for The Refuge Outpatient program, contact the Youth Town Admissions Department either by phone or by filling out the contact information below. You should expect to receive a response within 24-48 hours to schedule your first appointment. Your counselor will arrange any follow-up appointments at the end of each session.
While many people have health insurance, they differ in regard to coverage options. The admissions team works with your insurance provider to determine the maximum covered benefits available under your plan. If you don’t have insurance, The Refuge will work with you on other forms of payment.
It's common for the first session of counseling to serve as an assessment period, during which the client and counselor can become acquainted with one another, discuss the reasons for seeking counseling, develop both short-term and long-term goals, and address any questions the client may have. Typically, this initial session lasts around 90 minutes.
After conducting an intake interview and evaluation, the therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan. This plan will be tailored to meet your specific treatment requirements and recovery goals. The therapist will suggest the appropriate level of care and duration of treatment. Each session will last between 45-50 minutes.
My name is Adam Carlucci, and I work at The Refuge. Our mission is to provide therapy and counseling services and increase awareness about mental health among young people and adults. I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina, and I graduated with a degree in Marketing and Advertising from Freed-Hardeman University.
After completing college, I became a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, a combat medical professional in the United States Navy. I worked with Marine Corps and joint task force teams in hospitals and traveled to many countries worldwide. In 2013, I completed my service in the Navy and began working as a medical administrator.
My family and I took a full-time youth ministry position a few years later. During my time in church ministry, I saw a need for more therapists with a veteran and trauma background. This led me to complete my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health. Since then, I have worked in both private and public school systems, as well as at the University level, bringing awareness to adolescent and adult mental health. I have served individuals, families, veterans, and first responders as a therapist through private practice therapy.
I am happily married to my wonderful wife, who is a clinical mental health therapist. She primarily works with college students. During our free time, we enjoy being Uber drivers for our three children, spending time outdoors, and creating a happy and creative environment for our family.
